Why Agano Thelogical School Exists

Agano Theological School (ATS) is a ministry of Covenant Baptist Church Nakuru that was founded in January 2019 by with the sole aim of availing theological training to Pastors and Church leaders. Agano offers programs from Miami International theological Seminary (MINTS) ranging from certificate to Degree level.

Mission Statement

The mission of Agano Theological School is to equip and train faithful men who will in turn be able to teach others (2 Tim. 2:2). We would like to see healthy churches in and around the city, churches that honor our Lord in sound teaching and biblical practice. The mission of this school is that Christ be glorified and praised, as he has dictated in his word.

ATS Vision

The vision of Agano Theological School is that many people in the City of Nakuru and beyond will come to the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The only way this can happen is if the gospel is preached faithfully by men who have given themselves to study the Word of God. This must then lead to healthy and sound churches with members who are grounded in sound doctrinal teaching and who are living out the gospel in their day-to-day lives. Therefore, the school undertakes to teach and equip men who will be faithful in their preaching and dealings so that they can be able to teach others.

Agano Theological School Course Catalogue

Certificate in Theological studies

Duration: 1 year

Designed for nondegree seeking students who want to study academically at the Bachelor level, this program consists of ten (10) courses in Biblical, theological, ministerial, missions, church history, and liberal arts studies, or a combination of these, from the Bachelor’s degree program. Students will be required to do 10 courses spread through three trimesters starting in January of every year to November of the same, with examinations at the end of each semester. The following courses are to be completed with all that appertains to them amounting to 30 academic hours. Students who complete the certificate program can be admitted to the Bachelor of Arts programs, where they will be required to complete 90 academic hours in order to get a certificate.

Associate of Arts in Theological Studies

Duration: 2 years

Students seeking the A.A.T.S. degree, will have a 12-year elementary-secondary degree and must fulfill 60 academic hours by completing the following. Students will be required to do 20 courses spread through three trimesters starting in January of every year to November of the same with examinations at the end of each semester. The following courses are to be completed with all that appertains to them amounting to 60 academic hours. Students who complete the certificate program can be admitted to the Bachelor of Arts program where they will be required to complete 60 academic hours in order to get a certificate.

Bachelor of Arts in Theological Studies

Students will be required to do 20 courses spread through three trimesters starting in January of every year to November of the same with examinations at the end of each semester. The following courses are to be completed with all that appertains to them amounting to 120 academic hours.

Master of Arts in Theological Studies

Students seeking the M.A.T.S. degree, will present a 120 credit Bachelor’s degree and must fulfill 60 academic hours. Students will be required to do 20 courses spread through three trimesters starting in January of every year to November of the same with examinations at the end of each semester. The following courses are to be completed with all that appertains to them amounting to 60 academic hours. All the students will write a master thesis that consists of writing a commentary on a book of the Bible. The guidelines are in the document, How to Write a MINTS Course. The thesis will be no shorter than 75 pages and no longer than 125 pages. Each nation has their program of Project 66. The choosing of one’s Bible book is coordinated with a master list that is available on writing the Academic Dean. The thesis can count as a Bible course or as a Humanity course.
